Biocompatible and Conductive Surgical Suture with the Collaboration of Two Departments of Our Faculty

Prof. Dr. Esra Alveroğlu Durucu (Physics Engineering Department) and Dr. Yetkin Öztürk (Molecular Biology and Genetics Department) fabricated a new conductive surgical suture for better impulse transmition between the ruptured nerves and the method is patented by United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prof. Dr. Esra Alveroğlu Durucu (Physics Engineering Department) and Dr. Yetkin Öztürk (Molecular Biology and Genetics Department) fabricated a new conductive surgical suture for better impulse transmition between the ruptured nerves and the method is patented by United States Patent and Trademark Office. The prepared conductive surgical sutures have a new potential to improve the nerve regeneration and this technique can be used for other neurologic implants and nerve stimulating biomaterials.
