As part of the 250th anniversary events of Istanbul Technical University, the article by Prof. Tuncay ZORLU and Prof. Aytekin ÇÖKELEZ titled “Bilim ve Teknoloji Tarihi Çalışmalarının İTÜ’deki Serencamı: Kişiler, Kurumlar, Programlar, Etkinlikler ve Yayınlar” (The Journey of History of Science and Technology Studies at ITU: People, Institutions, Programs, Events, and Publications) was published in the book "From the Ottoman Empire to the Republic: Politics, Society, and ITU".
As part of the 250th anniversary events of Istanbul Technical University, the article by Prof. Tuncay ZORLU and Prof. Aytekin ÇÖKELEZ titled “Bilim ve Teknoloji Tarihi Çalışmalarının İTÜ’deki Serencamı: Kişiler, Kurumlar, Programlar, Etkinlikler ve Yayınlar” (The Journey of History of Science and Technology Studies at ITU: People, Institutions, Programs, Events, and Publications) was published in the book "From the Ottoman Empire to the Republic: Politics, Society, and ITU".

The article reveals the valuable data offered to researchers and academics in the field of the history of science and technology by ITU, stretching from its origins at the Tersane Hendesehanesi to the present day. The Rare Works section of the Mustafa Inan Library, along with the natural history, geology, and measurement instrument museums, and the ITU history museum, are highlighted as the most prominent witnesses of the university's scientific heritage. The Rare Works collection, which is particularly significant for the study of the history of science and technology during the Ottoman and early Republican periods, emphasizes initiatives that began in the 1970s with Kazım ÇEÇEN to establish the Institute and Center for the History of Science and Technology. It also draws attention to the exhibitions, international conferences, museum activities, and published books conducted within these institutions.
The article tells the story about the establishment of MS and PhD programs in the history of science and technology, which have institutionalized the history of science and technology studies at ITU. It also mentions the establishment of the academic journal titled “the Journal of Research in the History of Science and Technology (JRHST)”, with Prof. Aytekin ÇÖKELEZ as the chief editor, and Prof. Tuncay ZORLU, Assoc.
