1- 27th JCF (JungesChemieForum) Spring Symposium

Prof. Dr. Nilgün Kızılcan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Köken, and Dilşah Yaman participated in the 27th JCF Spring Symposium, held from March 12–15, 2025, in the vibrant city of Münster. The event was hosted by the Junges Chemie Forum (JCF) of the German Chemical Society (GDCh e.V.) and is recognized as one of Europe’s largest scientific conferences for young researchers. Prof. Dr. Kızılcan presented a poster titled “Lignosulphonate-Based Green Wood Adhesive for Particle Board,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Köken presented “Eco-Friendly Olive Pomace-Derived Biomass-Based Wood Adhesives,” and Dilşah Yaman contributed with “Eco-Friendly Bio-Based Approaches for Flame-Retardant Functionalization of Wood Adhesives.”

Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Gölcü Presents on Advanced Drug Analysis at 11th ICNTC in Bologna

Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Gölcü represented the ITU Chemistry Department at the 11th International Conference on New Trends in Chemistry (11th ICNTC 2025) held in Bologna, Italy, from April 25–27, 2025. Her presentation, titled “Drug Analysis with Molecularly Imprinted Polymers from Ion Pair Complexes,” explored the evolution of drug quantification methods from early spectrophotometric techniques to modern voltammetric and polymer-based systems. The talk covered her group’s recent work on pharmaceutical and biological sample analysis, highlighting methods based on ion pair and metal–drug complexation reactions. Comparative data on sensitivity and quantification limits between spectrophotometric and voltammetric approaches emphasized the advances in precision. Her contribution drew attention for its depth and innovation in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry.
