Prof. Dr. Gulcin M. Muslu gave a talk on “Long time behavior of solutions to the generalized Boussinesq equation in Sobolev spaces” as an invited speaker at the workshop entitled “Modelling the Propagation of Fluids: Mathematical Analysis and Numerical Approximation”.

The analysis and numerical approximation of partial differential equations (PDEs) are fundamental tools for modelling phenomena in fluid propagation. The resulting mathematical problems are of many different types and, consequently, of interest for researchers in several areas. The main objective of this workshop is to present some recent advances in the formulation, theoretical analysis and numerical treatment of this type of models.  Prof. Dr. Gulcin M. Muslu presented some theoretical and numerical results for the generalized Boussinesq equation to model water wave problem with surface tension.
