The article titled “Elemental, Oxidative and Functional Group Characteristics of Sediments in the Industrial Marine area in Tuzla Aydinli Bay, Istanbul, Turkey Between 2016 and 2020” by Chemistry Department Member Prof. Dr. Asli BAYSAL was published in the journal of Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology. This study one of the rare study which examined particle and surface characteristics of sediments from the industrial marine area in Aydinli Bay, the Marmara Sea, and the river tributaries of Aydinli Bay in Istanbul, Turkey‒over a period of five years (2016–2020). The fields may exhibit an environmental risk; therefore, actions to control the potential pollution and management programs for these contaminated fields should be implemented. The results of the study showed that numerous positive correlations were found between elements and particle characteristics. All these findings can be a good background for further examinations in this area such as evaluation the availability of heavy metals and may be helpful in understanding future challenges.
