In organic synthesis, sulfur-containing heterocycles are of particular interest since they are widely present in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, natural products, and organic electronic materials. Using recently developed effective methods, the group has successfully synthesized medium-sized (8, 9 and 10-membered) ring structures as well as multi-substituted thiophenes. Initial results of their research were published in the flagship journal of organic chemistry (Organic Letters  2023, 25, 22, 4028- 4032). In this year, the group also achieved TÜBİTAK 1001 grant for their research proposal entitled as “Investigation of New Organic Synthesis Methods Based on 1,3-Ditihane and 1,3-Dithiolane Derivatives”
