A new book by one of our faculty members Doğan Gürpınar, which discusses the cultural, intellectual, and political history of Turkey’s ’90s was published under the name ‘Küstah ve Cüretkar: Türkiye'nin Doksanlı Yılları’.

The author notes that the book for the first time directs nostalgia not toward the old times of purity and innocence but toward the boisterous, colorful, and at times hedonistic times. From mafias to popular culture, it attempts to combine the volatile and disjointed parts of “Old Turkey”.
