The project with title “Carbyne Films: Synthesis of a New Class of Carbon Allotrope and Novel Applications in Sensors and Biosensors” was established in collaboration with Russia, Greece, Switzerland, Germany and Turkey and funded by EU as a part of ERA NET RUSSIA PLUS.
In this project, novel carbyne based sensors will be developed. ITU joined this project with two researchers; Prof. Dr. Levent TRABZON from Mechanical Engineering Department as the principle organiser and Assist. Prof. Dr. Caner ÜNLÜ from Chemistry Department as a researcher. The project will focus on synthesis of novel carbyne molecules and integrating these molecules to nanofilms to be used in microfluidic devices as sensors. Mainly, Turkish team will concentrate on characterization of carbyne films in terms of sensor response and mechanisms.
